Windows dns not updating
What is even more confusing is the effect you see if the zone is set to "Nonsecure and Secure". This unexpected response to SSSD will generate an error. Hopefully this explains a number of scenarios and how to set to proper configuration.
If the zone is set to "None", no update of any kind is done. To understand what happens here, you must look at the design of the DNS update process. Enjoy your more modern Linux dynamic DNS experience!

Even better though would be to put the IP address of one of the root servers returned above. 18.104.22.168 nameserver = f.nameserver = e.nameserver = d.nameserver = c.nameserver = b.nameserver = a.f.internet address = 22.214.171.124 f.AAAA IPv6 address = 20c:e0::1 e.internet address = 203.1 e.AAAA IPv6 address = 2001:dd8:6::101 d.internet address = 2.53 d.AAAA IPv6 address = 20c10::53 c.internet address = 126.96.36.199 c.AAAA IPv6 address = 20f0::10 b.internet address = 188.8.131.52 b.AAAA IPv6 address = 20::87 a.internet address = 184.108.40.206 a.AAAA IPv6 address = 20::73 Server: Un Known Address: 220.127.116.11 (root) nameserver = l.(root) nameserver = h.(root) nameserver = b.(root) nameserver = k.(root) nameserver = f.(root) nameserver = c.(root) nameserver = d.(root) nameserver = j.(root) nameserver = i.(root) nameserver = g.(root) nameserver = m.(root) nameserver = e.(root) nameserver = a.l.internet address = 18.104.22.168 l.AAAA IPv6 address = 200:3::42 h.internet address = 22.214.171.124 h.AAAA IPv6 address = 200:1::803f:235 b.internet address = 192.2 b.AAAA IPv6 address = 20::b k.internet address = 126.96.36.199 k.AAAA IPv6 address = 2001:7fd::1 f.internet address = 188.8.131.52 f.AAAA IPv6 address = 200:2f::f c.internet address = 184.108.40.206 c.AAAA IPv6 address = 200:2::c d.internet address = 220.127.116.11 So there you have it.

If you look in Microsoft DNS, you will see that the record is created.
Viewing this from the DNS server displays the same issue.If you want to update this list you can do so by each entry, or click the ‘Copy from Server’ button to update the list with a new bunch of entries.
